Diplocaulus salamandroides
Taxonomy
Diplocaulus salamandroides was named by Cope (1877). It is not extant. Its type specimen is FMNH UC 6513-16, a set of vertebrae. Its type locality is Danville Locality (Vertebrates), which is in a Missourian terrestrial horizon in the Bond Formation of Illinois. It is the type species of Diplocaulus.
