Taxonomy

Saccella miradorana was named by Olsson (1931). It is not extant. Its type locality is Quebrada Charanal [Mirador Sandstone, Mancora Fm], which is in an Oligocene marine conglomerate/sandstone in the Mancora Formation of Peru.
