Taxonomy
Bavarioboa minuta was named by Szyndlar and Rage (2003). Its type specimen is SMNS 58196-1 (one trunk vertebra) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Herrlingen 8, which is in a MP 28 fissure fill limestone in Germany.

Differs from all remaining species of Bavarioboa except for B. herrlingensis sp. n. by having prezygapophyses of middle trunk vertebrae not inclined and located only slightly higher than the neural canal floor; by not having thickened neural spines in posterior trunk vertebrae. Differs from all Oligocene species of Bavarioboa by having ventral border of the haemal keel arched dorsally (in lateral view) from most vertebrae (pgs. 38-40)." |
