Protanystropheus antiquus
Taxonomy
Tanystropheus antiquus was named by Huene (1905). Its type specimen is SMNS 16687, a set of vertebrae, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Krappitz, which is in a Bithynian marine limestone in the Gogolin Formation of Poland.
It was recombined as Protanystropheus antiquus by Sennikov (2011).
