Taxonomy
Allonia was named by Doré and Reid (1965) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Atda-l Cm Boto-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1244]. Its type is Allonia tripodophora.

It was assigned to Chancelloriidae by Brock and Cooper (1993); and to Chancelloriida by Sepkoski (2002).
