Beraunia bohemica

Taxonomy
Rhabdospira bohemica was named by Perner (1903) [Rhabdospira bohemica Barrande in Perner 1903 Also given as Lytospira bohemica in the same text.]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kosov quarry locality (Dlouhá Hora), Kopanina Fm, which is in a Ludlow deep subtidal limestone in the Kopanina Formation of Czechia.

It was recombined as Cyclotropis bohemica by Perner (1907); it was recombined as Beraunia bohemica by Rohr and Blodgett (2008), Wagner (2023).

Blodgett 2008Discoidal shell up to 3 cm in diameter with all but first two whorls out of contact, whorl cross section circular; ornament of up to 25 spiral cords crossed by weaker growth lines; aperture radial with no re-entrants; inside surface of whorl smooth, featureless; last 5 mm of a probable gerontic specimen (Fig. 3.5–3.6) shows no spiral ornament and no shell thickening.
