Taxonomy
Helicotoma planulatoides was named by Ulrich and Scofield (1897) [Helicotoma planulatoides Ulrich in Ulrich & Scofield 1897]. It is not extant. Its type locality is High Bridge, Tyrone Fm., which is in a Rocklandian shallow subtidal limestone in the Tyrone Limestone Formation of Kentucky.
