Taxonomy
Khairkhania rotato was named by Missarzhevsky (1980). Its type specimen is GIN 4297/10, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Sample 136, Salany-Gol River, which is in a Nemakit-Daldynian marine horizon in the Bayangol Formation of Mongolia.
