Sunnaginia was named by Rozanov et al. (1969) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Tomm-l Cm Boto-l Sepkoski's reference number: 885,1006.
Missarzhevsky in Rozanov et al. 1969]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Sunnaginiidae.
It was assigned to Sunnaginiidae by Landing (1984); to Tommotiida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Phoronida by Skovsted et al. (2008).
