Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
D. M. Rohr 1994Discoidal, loosely coiled, base slightly convex; widely umbilicate, hyperstrophic shells with a rounded-square cross section with angulations present at upper-inner edge, upper- outer edge, and lower-outer edge, and a weaker angulation at upper-inner edge; slightly opisthocyrt growth lines strongly developed on base of shell, growth lines on both sides of upper shell surface strongly opisthocline meeting to form a V at crest of whorl.

Discoidal, loosely coiled, widely umbilicate, hyperstrophic shells as large as 4.5 cm in diameter; three spiral angulations present at upper-inner edge, upper-outer edge, and lower-outer edge, and a weaker angulation at upper-inner edge; whorl surface curves concavely downward from upper-outer angulation to upper-inner angulation, and then convexly into deeply impressed suture; outer whorl surface nearly planar, sloping at about 60 degrees to lower-outer angulation; very shallow spiral indentation about one-third the distance down outer whorl surface; base of whorl broadly convex, basal suture shallow; entire base slightly convex; slightly opisthocyrt growth lines strongly developed on base of shell, becoming much more closely spaced in later growth stages; growth lines on both sides of upper shell surface strongly opisthocline meeting to form a V at crest of whorl; grooves corresponding to lower-inner, lower outer, and crestal angulations continue into interior of shell; upper-inner angulation stronger and slightly higher in younger growth stages producing a nearly square profile.
