Naticopsis (Naticopsis) taemasensis was named by Tassell (1982) [Naticopsis (Naticopsis) taemasensis Tassell 1982b]. It is not extant. Its type locality is Chatterton Loc. B, lower half of Receptaculites Lst, near Yass, NSW, which is in an Emsian marine lime mudstone/grainstone in the Taemas Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Naticopsis taemasensis by Wagner (2023).
