Plagiothyra isekei was named by Heidelberger and Amler (2002). It is not extant. Its type locality is Oetelshofen, Dornap, Germany, which is in a Givetian/Frasnian reef, buildup or bioherm bafflestone/framestone in the "Massenkalk" Formation of Germany.
