P. Y. Parkhaev and Y. Demidenko 2010 | "Elongated bilateral symmetrical sclerites curved downwards in crescent-like manner composed of several segments. Sclerite margins bent inwards. Borders of segments indistinct or obliterated. Outer surface of each segment bears spiny projection curved abapically. Spiny projections arranged in one subcentral row (P. sinensis and P. spinus), in two parallel rows (P. bispinosus), or in alternating manner in two rows (P. parabolicus). Internal concave surface of sclerite smooth. Usually apical part of sclerite narrowest and with strongest bent. Sclerite becomes wider towards rounded abapical side." |
