Pseudozygopleura (Pseudozygopleura) baltea was named by Hoare and Sturgeon (1985) [Pseudozygopleura (Pseudozygopleura) baltea Hoare & Sturgeon 1985]. It is not extant. Its type locality is CSl-1. Roadcut on North side of US 36 2.5 kilometers east of junction with 0hio , which is in an Atokan shallow subtidal limestone/shale in the Pottsville Formation of Ohio.
It was recombined as Pseudozygopleura baltea by Wagner (2023).
