Taxonomy
Thairoplax merriami was named by Hoare (2000). It is not extant. Its type locality is USGS M1027 - 2 kilometers southeast of Parker Ranch, east fork of Scott River, which is in a Ludfordian carbonate limestone in the Gazelle Formation of California.
