Taxonomy
Tryblidium simplex was named by Whitfield (1886). It is not extant. Its type locality is 227 - Promonotory on west end of Fort Cassin, Lake Champlain., which is in a Cassinian carbonate limestone in the Fort Cassin Formation of Vermont.
