Taxonomy
Lytospira mediosulcata was named by Kobayashi (1955). Its type locality is Kobayashi 5. 8005 Goodsir J/8. Head of creek, 3.1 miles N. of Sinclair, which is in a Demingian carbonate limestone in Canada.

It was recombined as Macluritella mediosulcata by Wagner (2023).
