Taxonomy
Helcionopsis was named by Ulrich and Scofield (1897) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm lMid O Ashg-m Sepkoski's reference number: 110,615]. It is not extant. Its type is Helcionopsis striata.

It was assigned to Tryblidiidae by Starobogatov (1970), Runnegar and Jell (1976); to Tryblidiinae by Knight and Yochelson (1960), Wahlman (1992); and to Tryblidiida by Sepkoski (2002).
