Taxonomy
Vallatotheca was named by Foerste (1914) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm lMid O Ashg-m Sepkoski's reference number: 110]. It is not extant. Its type is Vallatotheca manitoulini.

It was assigned to Proplininae by Knight and Yochelson (1960); to Tryblidiidae by Runnegar and Jell (1976); to Proplinidae by Starobogatov (1970) and Wahlman (1992); and to Tryblidiida by Sepkoski (2002).
