Taxonomy
Eotrochus liratus was named by Chronic (1952) [Eotrochus? liratus Chronic 1952]. Its type specimen is AMNH 27111:1, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rimmy Jim Tank, Kaibab Formation, Coconino County, which is in a Roadian marine limestone in the Kaibab Formation of Arizona.

It was recombined as Sallya lirata by Yochelson (1956), Kulas and Batten (1997), Wagner (2023).
