Taxonomy
Metoptoma venillia was named by Billings (1865) [Metoptoma Venillia]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Walcott Locality 115a. Point Lévis cemetary, St. Lawrence River., which is in a Sunwaptan carbonate limestone in the Levis Formation of Canada.
It was corrected as Metoptoma venellia by Whitfield (1889); it was recombined as Scenella venillia by Wagner (2023).
