Pachystrophia discreta was named by Perner (1903) [Barrande in Perner 1903]. It is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Straparollus (Straparollus) discreta by Jhaveri (1969); it was recombined as Morphotropis discreta by Perner (1907) and Wagner (2023).
