Taxonomy
Platyceras paxiller was named by Clarke (1908). It is not extant. Its type locality is Grand Grève, which is in a Pragian carbonate limestone in the Grande Greve Formation of Canada.
It was recombined as Spinyplatyceras paxiller by Blodgett and Frýda (1999), Wagner (2023).
