Pseudozygopleura macra
Taxonomy
Pseudozygopleura (Pyrgozyga) macra was named by Knight (1930) [Pseudozygopleura (Pyrgozyga) macra Knight 1930]. Its type specimen is YPM 12985, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is SL-1. Headwaters of Feefee Creek, north of Olive St. & west of Lindberg Blvd., 1.5 km northwest of Stratmann (Olivette), which is in a Moscovian offshore shale in the Appanoose Formation of Missouri.
It was recombined as Pseudozygopleura macrus by Yochelson and Saunders (1967); it was recombined as Pseudozygopleura (Pseudozygopleura) macra by Hoare and Sturgeon (1981); it was recombined as Pseudozygopleura macra by Kues and Batten (2001), Wagner (2023).
