Ribeiria jonesi was named by Pojeta et al. (1977). It is not extant. Its type locality is Locality 04. AS 198. East Bank, Ross River valley, which is in a Payntonian marine sandstone in the Pacoota Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Kimopegma jonesi by Wagner (1999), Wagner (2023).
