Taxonomy
Euomphalus annulatus was named by Phillips (1841) [Euomphalus annulatus Phillips 1841]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Wolborough Quarry, on the east side of the A381 due east of Wolborough church, which is in a Givetian carbonate limestone in the Torquay Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Straparollus annulatus by Whidborne (1891), Whiteaves (1892); it was recombined as Serpulospira annulatus by Wagner (2023); it was recombined as Ornollus annulatus by Heidelberger (2001), Wagner (2023).
