Taxonomy
Alkaidia sumralli was named by Blake and Reid (1998). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Texas Memorial Museum, Holotype 1786TX1, Paratype 1786TX7-9, 1786TX21-28. It is the type species of Alkaidia.
