Pulsellum was named by Stoliczka (1868) [Sepkoski's age data: T Than-l R Sepkoski's reference number: 914]. It is extant.
It was assigned to Siphonodentaliidae by Wienrich (1999); to Scaphopoda by Sepkoski (2002); and to Pulsellidae by Wells and Houston (2001) and Reynolds and Steiner (2008).
