Taxonomy
Uniconus was named by Ljaschenko (1955) [Sepkoski's age data: S D Fras-u]. It is not extant. Its type is Tentaculites glaber. It is the type genus of Uniconidae.
It was assigned to Tentaculitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Uniconidae by Farsan (1994), Comniskey and Ghilardi (2018).
