Taxonomy
Rotodactylus lucasi was named by Demathieu and Gand (1973). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is BF2, 65B, a footprint, and it is a trace fossil. Its type locality is La Pissoire Quarries, BF2 tracksite, which is in an Anisian/Ladinian terrestrial sandstone/claystone in the Grès d'Antully Formation of France.
