Thecachampsa sericodon
Taxonomy
Thecachampsa sericodon was named by Cope (1867). Its type specimen is ANSP 9443-9445, a set of teeth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is James T. Thomas estate, which is in a Serravallian offshore shelf horizon in the Calvert Formation of Maryland.
It was recombined as Crocodylus sericodon by Hay (1902), Hay (1930); it was synonymized subjectively with Thecachampsa antiqua by Myrick (2001).
