Taxonomy
Calamagras floridanus was named by Auffenberg (1963). Its type specimen is FMNH 6150, a set of vertebrae, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Thomas Farm, which is in a Hemingfordian terrestrial sandstone/claystone in the Alachua Formation of Florida.
