Taxonomy
Phylloceras kawhiae was named by Marshall (1909). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Otamita Stream (behind Mandeville (likely Trechmann's Bed c), which is in an Otamitan marine horizon in New Zealand.
It was recombined as Holcophylloceras kawhiae by Spath (1927).
