Taxonomy
Monotis (Eomonotis) marwicki was named by Grant-Mackie (1980) [TYPE LOCALITY: Kiritihere, Waikato, New Zealand (Warepan=Norian). TYPE REPOSITORY: University of Auckland, Geology Dept.]. Its type specimen is L2919 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Kiritehere coast N82/f751, which is in a Triassic marine sandstone in New Zealand.
