Lecanospira was named by Butts (1926) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Trep-u O Trem Sepkoski's reference number: 797]. It is not extant. Its type is Ophileta compacta.
It was assigned to Maclureadae by Knight et al. (1960); to Euomphalidae by Linsley and Kier (1984); to Ophiletidae by Morris and Cleevely (1981), Wagner (1999); and to Euomphalina by Sepkoski (2002).
