Taxonomy
Ophiletina was named by Ulrich and Scofield (1897) [Sepkoski's age data: O Trem O Cara-u Sepkoski's reference number: 797]. It is not extant. Its type is Ophiletina sublaxa.

It was assigned to Ophiletidae by Morris and Cleevely (1981); to Euomphalidae by Ulrich and Scofield (1897), Linsley and Kier (1984); to Helicotominae by Knight et al. (1960), Wagner (1999); and to Euomphalina by Sepkoski (2002).
