Kaimenella dailyi was named by Brock and Cooper (1993) [TYPE LOCALITY: Wirrealpa area, Flinders Range, South Australia (Toyonian). TYPE REPOSITORY: SADME (South Australia Department of Mines and Energy).]. It is the type species of Kaimenella.
