It was assigned to Cassididae by MacNeil (1960) and Adegoke (1977); to Morum by Gardner (1947), Vokes (1998) and Todd (2001); to Neotaenioglossa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Moruminae by Squires (2018).

Squires 2018Shell moderately lightweight and triangularly ovate, protoconch conical, spire extended, subsutural collar common, spiral ribs pervasive, cancellate sculpture very common, columellar shield well developed and with or without tubercules, aperture narrow, siphonal fasciole moderately weak, outer lip varix with denticles on interior side and commonly on exterior side.
