Taxonomy
Pecten (Pseudamussium) vancouverensis was named by Whiteaves (1893) [DISTRIBUTION: Alaska-Sonora, Mexico, Kamchatka-Japan (Recent); western North American (Late Miocene).]. It is extant. It is the type species of Palliolum (Delectopecten).

It was recombined as Pecten (Pseudamusium) vancouverensis by Whiteaves (1893), Arnold (1906), Clark and Arnold (1923); it was recombined as Palliolum (Delectopecten) vancouverensis by Stewart (1930); it was recombined as Pecten (Pseudamussium) pedroanus vancouverensis by Grant and IV and Gale (1931); it was recombined as Hyalopecten vancouverensis by Woodring et al. (1946); it was recombined as Delectopecten vancouverensis by Moore (1984), Coan et al. (2000), Dijkstra and Kilburn (2001), del Rio et al. (2008), Hendy (2021).
