Ctenodonta samenoha was named by Kobayashi (1934) [TYPE LOCALITY: Chikunsan beds of the Chosen Group at Makkol, Taebaeksan area, Kangwon-do, South Korea; Middle Ordovician (Llandeilan).]. Its type specimen is UMUT PM0544, PM0545 and is not a trace fossil.
It was recombined as Palaeoconcha samenoha by Hayami and Kase (1977).
