Taxonomy
Conocardium ornatissimum was named by Barrande (1881). Its type specimen is NMP L23441, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Hippocardia ornatissima by Rogalla and Amler (2003); it was recombined as Pojetorum ornatissimum by Rogalla and Amler (2006).
