Taxonomy
Ampullina (Ampullinopsis) spenceri was named by Cooke (1919). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mirador Conglomerates near Tamarindo, which is in a Priabonian coastal sandstone in the Mirador Formation of Peru.

It was recombined as Ampullinopsis spenceri by Woodring (1957) and Woodring (1959).
