Asterigerinata was named by Bermudez (1949) [Sepkoski's age data: T Ol-u R]. It is extant. It was considered unknown by Bermudez (1949).

It was assigned to Asterigerinatidae by Bermudez (1949); and to Foraminiferida by Sepkoski (2002).

Diagnosis

P. J. Bermudez 1949Test vitreous, subtrochoid, plano-convex; chambers numerous, crescent shaped; ventral side umbonate; aperture simple, at the center of the base of the last chamber.
IT is closely related to the genus Asterigerina from which it differs in its more vitreous constitution, and absence of granulations in the apertural area.
