Taxonomy

Cancellaria oregonensis was named by Conrad (1865) [DISTRIBUTION: Middle Eocene; North Pacific.]. Its type specimen is USNM 3554, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Cancellaria (Euclia) oregonensis by Moore (1963) and Addicott (1970).

Synonyms

Cancellaria ramonensis was named by Clark (1918). Its type specimen is UCMP 11237 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP loc. 1131, Walnut Creek, which is in an Oligocene marine horizon in California.

It was synonymized subjectively with Cancellaria vetusta by Stewart (1927); it was synonymized subjectively with Cancellaria (Euclia) oregonensis by Addicott (1970).
Cancellaria andersoni was named by Clark (1918). Its type specimen is UCMP 11235 and is a 3D body fossil.

It was synonymized subjectively with Cancellaria vetusta by Stewart (1927); it was synonymized subjectively with Cancellaria (Euclia) oregonensis by Addicott (1970).
