Vitrinella (Docomphala) stearnsi was named by Bartsch (1907). It is extant.

It was recombined as Vitrinella stearnsi by Woodring and Bramlette (1950), Addicott and Emerson (1959); it was recombined as Docomphala stearnsi by Hendy (2021).
