Taxonomy
Cerithium emersonii was named by Adams (1839) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Miocene; Venezuela.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Cerithiopsis (Laskeya) emersonii by DuBar (1958), Weisbord (1962); it was recombined as Cerithiopsis emersonii by Adams and Adams (1858), Rosenberg (2005).
