Taxonomy
Aturia matsushitai was named by Kobayashi (1956). Its type specimen is UMUT CM 04684, a skeleton, and it is a mold. Its type locality is Aso Yoshikuma coal mine, Usui-town, which is in a Lutetian marine siliciclastic in the Oyaki Formation of Japan.
