Taxonomy
Tritiaria ecuadoriana was named by Pilsbry and Olsson (1941). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Zone B (lower) - Jama Formation, which is in a Pliocene offshore sandstone in the Jama Formation of Ecuador.
