Anuites was named by Andrianov (1985). Its type is Anuites kosynskyi.

It was synonymized subjectively with Sverdrupites by Furnish et al. (2009).

It was assigned to Anuitidae by Andrianov (1985), Korn (2006); and to Sverdrupitinae by Leonova and Shilovsky (2007), Leonova and Shilovsky (2014).
