Lyria carolinensis
Taxonomy
Lyria carolinensis was named by Kellum (1926) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Miocene; North Carolina.]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USGS 10655 (John Gilette Farm), Silverdale, Trent marl, Onslow Co., NC, which is in a Miocene marine marl/sandstone in the Trent Formation of North Carolina.
